Hello and welcome to apilotseye.com – version 2!
This site was conceived from the numerous photographs of amazing sights I have been fortunate enough to see whilst undertaking my role as an airline pilot flying routes around the world.
It soon became apparent to me that I was not alone in my interest in aviation and photography and that there was a large number of pilots out there who regularly see and record an array of incredible sights which would otherwise be hidden away inside their cameras and home computers. So, the idea was conceived to create somewhere dedicated to displaying these pictures and www.apilotseye.com was born.
I would, by no means, consider myself to be a “photographer”, in fact many of the pictures I have taken and those of the pilot contributors have been edited on smart phones and the like. There is no requirement to be a “photographer” to contribute pictures to our community at www.apilotseye.com – all are welcome, from professional pilots to weekend aviators, from commercial jet pilots to microlight flyers alike – we all have a unique and privileged view of the world in which we live. We also welcome non-flyers who have an interest in seeing the world from our fortunate point of view!
This is the second and updated version of our website which we feel gives a much greater visual appeal and impact to the photographs for our pilot members. It also allows non member to “Like” photographs contained within the site.
We are always open to suggestions and would welcome any feedback (see the contact us page) both positive and negative about the site. In addition any ideas for future development would also be well received despite us already have a raft of upgrades that we would like to make to for future updates!
My thanks to all those who have contributed to, and continue to contribute to, this website.
Please remember though – always fly safe!!
